The Cavity Creeps

My brother Matt went to Choate for a full 4 year stretch the year after I graduated, as it has served me so well.  He was in a considerable number of bands, some quite atrocious, but all fun if his stories are true.

Amongst the earliest and most raw was The Cavity Creeps.  I am not sure who was in it besides Matt Lovell on bass and Jem MacGruder on vocals and possibly guitar.  It might be that Randy Schloss was in the band.  If I had to guess, this band existed during Matt's freshman and/or sophomore years (1982-1984)

Judging from the tapes I found, the Creeps played at least one student dance, and the reception seems rather muted.  Here is an excerpt of them playing Birthday (3:08, 4 MB) However, a practice tape includes a rather exciting rendition of My Generation (2:35, 3 MB).  Indeed, upon hearing that Who cover, I have to wonder who is the drummer.... he's rocking out and Matt delivers a spunkadelic solo on bass.
